A practice of joyful play

Libbie Buehler is an abstract painter based in rural Ohio, drawn to the interplay between color, emotion, and the natural world. Her work is rooted in a personal practice: a daily return to intuition, joy, and the calming power of making. Painting helps her manage anxiety and reconnect with a sense of play that feels both grounding and expansive.

Her compositions are inspired by the wildness of the woods, the warmth of her greenhouse, the colors inside her kitchen, and the shapes found in local parks. These familiar places fuel the emotion and movement in each piece. She works in layered, expressive strokes—letting feeling lead and color follow.

She hopes her work brings you a moment of brightness, curiosity, or calm.
